How Happy Are You?

Yes, you might well ask yourself, How Happy am I? Social scientists are trying hard to find out how you or others would answer, but their task is not easy one. Measuring the happiness of individuals might likened to attempting to quantify the love that a man has for his wife or the amount of grief that is caused by a death in the family.Emotions do not lend themselves to precise measurement. However, scientists do recognise a basic truth: All humans have the capacity for being happy.Despite that fact, many people today  are so unhappy.
There has been an explosion of research on happiness, and the results of such studies have been surprising to many. With remarkable consistency, the evidence shows that people  who believed that their money, fame,or beauty will make happy are often disappointed and depressed. In United State, many people are richer than they have been  but  at the same more depressed.
Clearly then, material  possession does not  diminish our anxiety and stress, if anything, it heightens them.
A happy disposition is said to be a good medicine and so why not  help yourself and others to  be happy by
1.Develop a simple outlook on life.
2.Being content and avoid the love of everything in life.
3.spend quality time with friends and family.
4.Be generous and working for the happiness of others.
5.Be thankful and counting your blessings.
6.Be forgiving.
7.Choose your associate wisely.
8.Take care of your body and shun bad habits
9.Give yourself a  reward.
10.Surround yourself with happy people, animals and things

Strengthen Your Motivation In Quiting Smoking.

Smoking is often woven into a person's life by its regular association with eating, drinking, conversing, the relief of stress and so on. Smoking can have a strong grip in ones life and  so quiting can be very challenging.
  Below are few tips to strengthen you motivation in quiting;
1.SET A DATE;  The  U.S. Department of Health and Human Service recommends that once you have decided to quit, the first day of your life free from cigarettes should be within two weeks, that way your motivation will stay high.Mark the important day on your calender, tell your friends, and stick to the date even if  your circumstance change.
2.MAKE A QUIT CARD; It might contain the following information, plus anything else that may strengthen you motivation;  your reason for quiting, phone numbers of people to call when you feel you may cave in, record the progress you make and the problems you faces during this process.

4.BE SELECTIVE; Being selective will  involve avoiding needless association with people who smoke or who may invite you to do so. Also stay away from individuals who try to undermine your efforts to quit, perhaps by teasing you about it.
5.SEEK OUT HELP; Don't start the precess alone, consider seeking out those who have quit the habit themselves, since they may be not only empathetic but also helpful.  When seeking the support of others make sure this individuals will be genuinely supportive and patient and  loving.

Is World Unity Possible?

Is our world on the threshold of peace or on the brink of disaster? It seems that a case could be made for either view.
On the other hand, some world leaders speak confidently of global peace as an attainable goal perhaps because the alternative are too horrifying to contemplate. On the other hand, many tremble at such questions as these; which nations have a weapons to destroy the world?would they dare to use them? And what would happen if they did?
History shows that rivalry and prejudicehave long stood in the way of any hope for unity, and religion has often done much to fan the flames of conflict rather than extinguish them."Anything that divides people can spawn hostility, and religion is one of the stongest dividers," writes jounalist James  A. Haught."Despite the universal belief  that religion makes people good, it's obvious that it makes some people commit heinous acts." Author Steven  Weinberg holds a similar view." For good people to do evil, that takes religion".
Is there any hope that our world will ever be united? Yes! But the source of world unity is not man-made religion.
